Before diving into the fixes, it's essential to understand the underlying reasons why WhatsApp calls may not be ringing on your iPhone. The issue can stem from a variety of factors, including misconfigured notification settings, outdated WhatsApp or iOS versions, enabled Do Not Disturb mode, or even a faulty ringtone or audio output setting. Moreover, network connectivity issues, such as poor internet connectivity or Wi-Fi problems, can also hinder WhatsApp call notifications. Additionally, iPhone's specific features like Focus mode, Low Power Mode, or a muted contact can also be the culprit.
The first and most common reason WhatsApp calls are not ringing on your iPhone is because of microphone permission. If the microphone access is denied in the settings, you won't be able to listen to any incoming calls.
Besides, if WhatsApp hasn't allowed microphone permission, the incoming calls will not be notified.
Another big reason behind the issue is the need for a better network connection. If your phone isn't connected to reliable and stable internet, you won't be able to hear any incoming WhatsApp call notifications.
Well, it's quite an apparent reason if the internet connection you are connected to is weak or not strong enough; how can you talk on a call coming through the internet?
The last common reason for WhatsApp not ringing on your iPhone is when you are connected to another device, such as a Bluetooth headset. After connecting to the other device, the sound from your phone may automatically go to that device instead of your phone speakers.
We often forget that we have connected our iPhones to Bluetooth devices like speakers or AirPods. That is why we don't get any sound on our phones.
So these are the three most common reasons why WhatsApp calls are not ringing on your iPhone. Let's move to the solutions that you can try to fix this issue.
Before moving on to the fixes, check out the quick tips that may help eliminate this problem.
Most of the time, the problem doesn't exist, but we think it does. So, let's check out the quick tips.
So, ensure it's off, and then check if you are getting any sound. If you are still facing the issue, there might be another reason.
The second tip is to ensure Do Not Disturb mode is turned off. If it's enabled, your phone won't ring even if you receive a call on WhatsApp or any other app.
Now check if the issue is resolved. If not, it's time to jump to the next tip below.
When enabled, Phone noise cancellation can be why incoming calls don't ring on your phone. So, it's better to turn off this feature and check if you are getting any sound when someone calls you.
Now, try calling yourself or asking a friend to call you to see if that helps solve the issue.
Sometimes, iPhone's Noise Cancellation feature stops responding, and the incoming calls won't make any sound. So, it's better to disable this feature temporarily and check if that helps you get out of this issue.
Another crucial setting to verify is WhatsApp notification configuration on your iPhone. If notifications are disabled or not properly set up, your iPhone won't produce any sound or display a notification when someone attempts to reach you via WhatsApp call, potentially leading to missed conversations. To ensure seamless communication, check that WhatsApp notifications are enabled in your iPhone's Settings app, and that the notification sounds and alerts are properly configured within the WhatsApp app itself.
