Recovering data from dead iPhone
My iPhone went completely dead yesterday. It wouldn't take a charge, nothing it just died. I took it to the Apple store and they pronounced it dead. I had recently backed it up when I installed iOS 9.3.2. My question is, is it possible to recover the photos and videos that resided on it? I didn't sync it with iTunes recently.Any suggestions?
My iPhone is dead. If you search it online, you'll find lots of people looking a solution to recover data from their dead iPhone. After all, the device has been dead, saving the data is urgent. Well, to recover data from dead iPhone, you need the help of a third-party program, which can help to directly scan your iPhone and take data on it. If you don't have a choice yet, here is my recommendation: Dr.Fone - Mac iPhone Data Recovery or Dr.Fone - iPhone Data Recovery. This dead iPhone data recovery software can help to recover data including contacts, SMS, photos, videos, notes, and more.
3 ways to recover data from dead iPhone
To get started, connect your dead iPhone to the computer and confirm if it can be detected by your computer. If yes, please follow the steps below to recover data from your dead iPhone. If not, please follow the solutions in the part 2 and the part 3.
Launch the Dr.Fone software after you download and install it on your computer, then connect your dead iPhone to the computer with a digital cable. It doesn't matter, even it doesn't work. Just do it. After connecting your iPhone, you'll get an interface as follows.
After that, you'll be told you've successfully entered the device's scanning mode and the software begins scanning your iPhone now.
The scan will stop after a few minutes. Found data will be displayed in categories, such as Camera Roll, Photo Stream, Contacts, Messages, etc. You can preview each of them one by one, and mark those you want to save them on your computer by clicking "Recover to Computer".
Note: The data found in each category includes those deleted recently. You can check them by sliding the button on the top: Only display the deleted items.
To use this way to retrieve data from dead iPhone, you need to have an iTunes backup file at first. That's to say, you've ever synced your dead iPhone with iTunes before. Then you can do it.
After running the program, click "Recover from iTunes Backup File" from the side menu. Then you will see a list of all your iTunes backup files. You can choose any of them, and then click "Start Scan" to begin.
The scan will take you a few seconds. Once it's complete, you can preview all extracted content from the iTunes backup. Choose the category on the left side and check every item on the right. Tick the item that you want to recover and click "Recover" to save them all to your computer.
To recover dead iPhone data from iCloud backup files, you need to have an iCloud backup. If you've enabled the iCloud backup feature on your iPhone or made an iCloud backup before, this way works for you.
Choose "Recover from iCloud Backup File" from the side menu of Dr.Fone. Then you can see the window as follows. Enter your iCloud account and sign in.
After you get in, you can see all your iCloud backup files listed. Choose the one for your dead iPhone, and click "Download" to get it off. When you do this, make sure that your internet connection is perfect. Then click "Start Scan" to extract the downloaded file later. This will take you a few minutes. Just do it according to the reminding message.
When everything is done, you can preview the data one by one and decide which item you want. Check it and click "Recover" to get it.
