How to recover a Gmail Account Without a Phone number?

In most cases, Google lets one recover their Gmail account through email or SMS verification, so a recovery email and phone can be a lifesaver. Not having these solutions makes the recovery process more difficult. But don't worry; you can recover your Gmail account even without a phone number. Here's how:

  • Step 1: To start the recovery process, access the Google Account Recovery page on your browser.
  • Step 2: Enter the email ID you wish to recover and click "Next," followed by "Try another way" on the new window.
  • Step 3: During recovery, you'll notice if your Gmail ID is already logged on to your other device. You can confirm your identification by logging into Gmail using the notification. Then, follow the video prompts to execute the verification procedure properly.
  • Step 4: Then, Google sends a password reset link to your Gmail within 2-3 days. If you don’t get the email, check the other device. Also, check the spam or trash folder you've received if you didn't get the email. Generally, emails from Google or similar aren't directed to these folders, but it's better to be safe.
  • Step 5: Now, click the password resetting link and reset the password according to the instructions.

Note: Recovering my Google password using this method when my phone or email isn't accessible can be a lifesaver, but the option is only viable if the account is added to another device.

How to Recover a Gmail Account with Date of Birth?

Aside from email and password, Google lets you regain access to your Gmail account using your date of birth. Follow the steps in order:

  • Step 1: Similar to the previous method, initiate the recovery process by accessing the Google Account Recovery page on your preferred browser.
  • Step 2: The new window prompts you to fill in your credentials, starting with Google ID. If you lose the password, select the "Forgot Password" option. If you're unsure which account to recover, Google provides you with a list of accounts.
  • Step 3: Proceed to recover your Gmail account by clicking on "Try another way" until the "recover with the date of birth" option appears on the screen. Enter the requested date of birth and click on "next."
  • Step 4: As Google verifies your date of birth, you can create a new password by following the instructions. After you successfully set up the password, log into your Google account with the updated credentials.

Note: Again, using the date of birth to recover my Gmail password can be a valuable option, but not all Google accounts have access to this feature. Google continuously updates its security measures, and the availability of the option depends on various factors, such as if you put the date of birth into the account.

How to Recover Deleted Emails from Gmail Within/Beyond 30 Days?

If you deliberately or accidentally deleted some of your emails and later realized your mistake, fret not; there's still hope. Google lets you easily recover your data if deleted within 30 days, but things get a touch complicated if you've deleted them before that. Read through the subsequent sections and follow the steps to get back all your lost emails.

Recover Deleted Emails Within 30 Days

When you delete an email, Google automatically moves it to the "Trash" folder, where it's stored for 30 days before it is deleted permanently. You can recover them as follows:

  • Step 1: On your Gmail, navigate to the Trash folder on the left sidebar and scroll down to find the deleted email you want to recover.

find the deleted email in the trash

  • Step 2: If you can’t find it there, try running an “Advanced Search” by tapping the icon below the search bar.

  • Step 3: Type in the keyword, such as a few words in the email body, sender’s name, or subject line, and tap on “Search.”

Step 4: If the deleted email pops up on the screen, check the box on the left and click on Move icon > Inbox to recover your lost email.

But in many instances, we tend to permanently delete an email, so there won't be any signs of it in the Trash folder. So, irrespective of the time frame, follow the steps in the subsequent section to recover them.

Recover Deleted Emails Within 30 Days

Remember, permanently deleted emails tend to stay on Google's server for up to 25 days, which you can retrieve upon request. Here's how:

Method 1: Via Gmail Support Team

In some cases, the Google support team assists in recovering emails that are deleted before 30 days and even months. To access that, visit the Gmail Help Community Page or Google Help to get support from Google's team of experts or fellow users.

Note: The Google support team might need information about deleted emails similar to what you might provide in the "advanced search" option to retrieve your emails from Trash.

Method 2: From the Admin Console

Another way to restore your permanently deleted emails is from the admin console. For that, you can follow the below steps:

  • Step 1: Access the Google Admin Console and log into it as an administrator to take account of the deleted emails.
  • Step 2: Access Menu followed by Directory > Users.
  • Step 3: From the pop-up "Users List," choose the user (in case it's you), followed by More Options > Restore Data. All your deleted emails to date are now available to access.

Note: This method is applicable only when your Gmail address is through a "Google Workspace account" or isn't your personal account. You might need to ask your friend to retrieve your lost emails.

Use Dr. Fone to Recover Gmail Data

Deleting an email permanently can happen by accident, and there's no point in blaming anyone once it's gone. But what if you act smartly and preemptively back up your Gmail data? With many third-party applications in the space, Wondershare Dr. Fone is one of the best platforms to back up your emails and restore them whenever needed. The best part is it supports any type of data and is compatible with most platforms, so irrespective of where you lost your emails, you can retrieve them at any time.

Besides, backing up and restoring data doesn't require technical knowledge; you just need to follow through with the steps and complete the process within a few clicks.

Solution 1: Manually Back Up the Data

  • Step 1: On the Dr.Fone home dashboard, navigate to “My Backup > Back Up Now” to back up all the data that’s available on your Android/iOS device. This even includes the application data like photos, videos, and documents, for example.

Solution 2: Auto-Backup

  • Step 1: It’s indeed a great feature for those who don’t want to plug in your device and manually back up their data. All that’s needed is the smartphone and the computer running Dr. Fone, which connects to the same WiFi. Now, to set it up, click “My backup > Backup preferences.”

start auto backup

  • Step 2: On the new window, toggle the auto-backup and follow it up by setting up a backup plan and preferred time to back up data.

set up a scheduled backup plan

  • Step 3: You can delete your emails and other attachments at any point in the future. But you can access the “Backup history” on the home dashboard and restore them at any time.
